Trafford Council are upgrading cycling and walking facilities on Talbot Road.

Talbot Road and Chester Road

From Monday 11 March, Chester Road will be reduced to one lane in both directions, between Thomas Street and the Talbot Road junction. This will be weekdays only between 9.30am and 3.30pm, so should have minimal impact to your daily commute.

If you're travelling northbound, it will be rolling lane closures, with one lane remaining open at all times until 13 May. Vehicles travelling southbound will experience rolling lane closures, with one lane maintained at all times until 8 April. Vehicles will not be able to turn right into Longford Road, and this will be in place until 8 April.

Talbot Road and Great Stone Road

From Monday 25 March for up to two weeks (during the Easter holidays), there will be temporary traffic signals in place on Talbot Road at the junction with Great Stone Road. As a result, there are likely to be localised delays, so please allow extra time for your journey if you are travelling by this route. Consider taking the tram to Old Trafford or Trafford Bar to avoid congestion.
