The costs and the benefits
If you qualify, you and an accompanying adult can get free or low-cost journeys up to six miles from your home – as long as it's in Greater Manchester.
The cost of a journey depends on how which concessionary pass you are eligible for:
- It's always free if you have a Concessionary Plus Pass (£1.20 for an accompanying adult)
- £1.20 if you have a Concessionary Disabled Person Pass (£3 for an accompanying adult)
- £1.20 if you are over 70 with mobility issues and have an Over-60 pass after 9.30am Monday to Friday and at weekends (£3 for an accompanying adult at all times)
- £3 if you are over 70 with mobility issues and have an Over-60 pass before 9.30am Monday to Friday (£3 for an accompanying adult at all times)
- £2 if you have travel vouchers
You may be able to go further than six miles in certain situations, such as going to a hospital appointment.
An accessible minibus will pick you up from your front door.
Ring & Ride minibuses are suitable for taking wheelchairs, and all drivers have had special accessibility and disability-awareness training.

Group bookings
In some circumstances, we may be able to accommodate requests of pre-bookings for groups of over 6 people who want to make a regular journey to the same destination.
These bookings will be reviewed with the organiser after a period of 3 months.
Special bookings
Where a group of people wish to make a one-off journey to a specific destination e.g. the theatre, this can be accommodated depending on availability.
To avoid disappointment please give as much notice as possible.
Wheelchairs / walking frames / trolleys / children's car seats
Please tell the call centre when you book if you have any of these items as we will need to allow space for them on the vehicle.
Car seats must be taken with you when you leave the bus.
Cancellations
If you need to cancel your trip please let us know at the earliest opportunity. This will allow your trip to be given to another person.
If you travel as part of a group booking and you cancel repeatedly we may remove you from the group booking and request you book as an individual passenger instead.
