Christmas across Bolton

What’s happening

The transport network is expected to be busier than usual over the Christmas period as there are a number of festive events across Bolton. Journey times are likely to increase during the run up to New Year, so you should plan ahead if you are taking part in, spectating or simply travelling around the local area.

The Christmas lights switch on will take place in Victoria Square on Thursday 16 November with special guest Paddy McGuiness.

The Winter Wonderland, also based at Victoria Square, comes to life in the first weekend of December with an ice rink, fun fair rides and will be full of hundreds of stalls to for all the family to enjoy.

We have provided help and advice to keep your sled moving so you can prepare and minimise the impact on your Christmas travel and shopping trips. This page will be continually updated during this time.

You can find out more information on all the events on Bolton Council’s website.
