Full upgrade of the Manchester Road / Loxham Street junction to increase capacity and improve traffic flows, including the provision of new signalised pedestrian and cyclist crossing facilities.

Upgrades to bus stops and shelters to improve accessibility, e.g. raising kerbs to make it easier for passengers to board low-floor buses.

Longcauseway / Higher Market Street
Work has taken place to improve the Longcauseway / Higher Market Street junction. It included upgrading pedestrian and cyclist facilities. This will improve traffic flows and ease congestion between Farnworth Town Centre and the Kearsley roundabout.

Manchester Road / Raikes Lane
Work has taken place to upgrade the Manchester Road / Raikes Lane junction to improve traffic flows to and from the A666 St Peter's Way. The carriageway has been widened to create dedicated turning lanes to and from Raikes Lane and pedestrian and cyclist facilities have been upgraded.

Work has taken place to improve the Manchester Road / Green Lane junction by installing new traffic signals to ease congestion during peak periods and re-surfacing the carriageway and footway.
