Stalybridge station to be transformed into a community hub

4 December 2017
Stalybridge-072 2

This December Stalybridge station is being transformed into a space for art, fitness, shopping and free mental health and financial advice.

The project, Platforms For All, will enable commuters and local residents to take part in free activities and workshops provided by social enterprises, including: craft lessons, mental health awareness, loan shark advice, meditation and a community gym.

The station will also host an art exhibition from Global Grooves, showcasing their colourful carnival creations.

Platforms For All is a TfGM initiative that transforms the city-region’s rail stations into community hubs.

We are working in partnership with TransPennine Express and the local social enterprises to deliver the initiative at Stalybridge. This innovative approach not only improves stations, but can also stimulate local pride and create a sense of community ownership.
