Booking a trip

Q: Do I have to register to use the service?
A: On the scheduled Heywood service, No. For all other trips, Yes, before you can book a trip you must register on the Kingsway link service. This can be done by either phoning 0161 200 6012 (local rate) or on our website at Once registered you will be given a customer number which you can use to book trips.  Journeys must be booked at least one hour before you wish to travel

Q: How do I book a trip on the Kingsway Link bus?
A: To book a trip you can either ring 0161 200 6012 (local rate) between 08:00 and 16:00 or 
visit at any time, stating your customer number, where you wish to travel from and to and at what time you wish to travel. At this point you will be allocated a pick up time for your trip.

Q: When can I travel on the service?
A:  The service runs between 05:00 and 23:00 every day except Christmas, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

Q: What if I no longer require the trip?
A: Please call 0161 200 6012 or visit to tell us as early as possible so that someone else can be offered the journey time if required. You can also rebook your trip to another time.

Q: Where can I travel on the service?
A: Trips can be made between Kingsway Business Park and any locaton within the area shown here.

Q: Do I have to live in Rochdale to use the service?
A: No, anyone can register to use the service. However, passengers must travel into the service area before boarding the bus at an agreed pick-up point.  This could be a nearby street, local bus stop or bus/railway station.

Q: Where does the bus pick up from at Rochdale Bus Station?
A: If you have booked a trip from Rochdale Bus Station, the bus will wait at Stand M.

Q: Can I travel on the service from Heywood?
A: There are four trips a day, seven days per week from Heywood, Bamford Road / Market Street stop to Kingsway Business Park. Passengers can board the service at the fixed stops at fixed times.There's no need to pre book these journeys. Details of these trips can be seen here.

Q: Where does the bus pick up from at Rochdale Rail Station?
A: If you have booked a trip from Rochdale Rail Station it will wait outside the front main Entrance at bus stop A or B

Q: Where does the bus pick up from at Kingsway Metrolink Stop?
A: If you have booked a trip from Kingsway Metrolink stop the bus will pick you up on Michael Faraday Avenue close to the JD Sports building.  At this stage the bus cannot wait close to the stop due to the temporary road closure. 

Q: How long should I wait for the bus?
A: When you book a trip you will be allocated a trip time. Except for the scheduled service for Heywood the bus can arrive up to 10 minutes before or 10 minutes after this pick-up time.  Please be ready for the bus to arrive at any point during this 20 minute period as we cannot guarantee the bus will wait for you. 

Q: What do I do if the bus does not turn up?
A: If it is between 08:00 and 21:00 (any day except public holidays) you can ring 0161 200 6012 (local rate) and ask about the location of your vehicle.

A: Single, return and weekly fares are available; simply pay the driver when you board:

Q: Is my National Concessionary Travel Pass valid on the service?
A: The National Concessionary Travel Pass will entitle you to the concessionary fare after 09.30.

Q: Are Travel Vouchers accepted on the service?
A: Yes, valid TfGM Travel Vouchers are accepted on Local Link services.

Q: Can I use my System One ticket on the bus?
A: Yes, all System One bus tickets are accepted on the service.

Q: Is my disability pass accepted on the bus?
A: A disability pass will entitle its holder to the concessionary fare.
