Getting to Salford Quays and MediaCityUK
Salford Quays is a thriving visitor destination on Greater Manchester's waterfront, with world-class attractions including The Lowry, Lowry Outlet Mall and Imperial War Museum North. By Metrolink tram
Metrolink trams are a quick and easy way to reach MediaCityUK and Salford Quays. The area is served by the new dedicated MediaCityUK stop and Harbour City, Broadway and other stops on the Eccles line. You can connect from other Metrolink lines at Cornbrook.
Trams run every 12 minutes between Cornbrook and MediaCityUK stops from 7.15am to 8pm, Monday to Fridays, and 9.30am to 6pm on Saturdays. The Eccles line service also stops at Broadway and Harbour City during these times. Outside these times, the Eccles line trams call at the MediaCityUK stop, during normal tram operating times. When the shuttle is running, this means that there is a 6 minute service between Cornbrook and Harbour City.

By Bus
Other bus services provide links to MediaCityUK, either running near Salford Quays or Trafford Park, within easy reach via the new MediaCityUK footbridge across the Manchester Ship Canal. Switching between buses and Metrolink trams is easy in Manchester city centre at Piccadilly Gardens and Shudehill transport interchanges.
It's easy to connect with the Salford QuaysLink service at Salford Shopping City and there are other convenient bus and tram interchanges at Bury, Altrincham and Eccles.

By train
If you travel to Manchester city centre by train it's easy to connect with Metrolink trams at either Piccadilly or Victoria train stations. Both stations have Metrolink stops, so you won't have to go outdoors when you make the connection.
Many trains also call at Salford Crescent station and it's easy to connect with the Salford QuaysLink bus to Salford Quays from there.

Making connections
If your local bus, train or tram service doesn't start on a direct public transport route to Salford Quays there are plenty of opportunities to make easy connections. Most places in Greater Manchester have direct bus or train services to Manchester city centre, where you can change to Metrolink tram services at several interchange points, including Piccadilly Station, Piccadilly Gardens, Shudehill and Victoria. Locations in the west of the region can also connect to Salford Quays from Salford Crescent station or Salford Shopping City with the Salford QuaysLink bus service.

Save money with day and season tickets
Day tickets let you make unlimited journeys for one day and will cost you less than buying individual tickets if you make several journeys. You can buy day tickets for local bus, train and Metrolink tram travel and System One DaySaver travelcards that include combinations of all three.
If you make regular journeys a season ticket will save you money and can be used at any time of day. You can also buy season tickets that combine bus, train and tram travel.

By cycling or walking
With pleasant, safe routes that link surrounding areas with Salford Quays, cycling or walking make great sense for some journeys. Salford Quays is easy to reach by bike and there are over 300 cycle racks at MediaCityUK alone.
Recommended cycle routes are
- Cross Lane - Linking University of Salford and Salford Crescent station with Salford Quays.
- Irwell River Park - Linking Manchester city to Salford Quays along Irwell River Park.
- National Cycle Route 55 - Linking Firswood, South Manchester and Chorlton to Salford Quays.
- Coronet Way - Provides a key cycling link between Eccles and Salford Quays.

Many rail stations and tram stops have cycle parking, so if you are taking public transport you can use your bike to get to your nearest station or stop.

By car
Salford Quays is a ten minute drive from Manchester city centre, 20 minutes' drive from Manchester Airport, and a quarter mile from the motorway network, giving access from the North West and beyond. You will need to allow more time when the roads are busy.
From the M60 take junction 12 and follow the M602. Salford Quays is a quarter of a mile from junctions 2 and 3 of the M602. Use junction 2, and follow the Broadway link road for MediaCityUK.
For the Lowry and Lowry Outlet Mall, continue to junction 3, and follow the brown signs to your destination. Car-parking is available at MediaCityUK and near the Lowry Outlet Mall.
There is a Metrolink Park and Ride service from Ladywell with frequent trams to stops near Salford Quays.
