Metrolink Airport Line: Changes to the road layout at the junction of Simonsway / Brownley Road and associated out of hour works
As you may be aware, work is underway to build the Metrolink extension to Manchester Airport. The line will extend from the South Manchester Line at Chorlton and run on 14.5km (9 miles) of new track over the Mersey valley and into Wythenshawe crossing the M60 and M56 motorways, continuing through to the town centre and onto Manchester Airport.
Residents may be aware that our contractor, MPT has undertaken construction works to change the Simonsway roundabout into a four-way signalised junction. These works have progressed well and MPT will now be carrying out blacktop resurfacing works, to convert the roundabout into the permanent crossroads.
